In this project, LA ALBAIDA worked closely with Architecture Studio 969 on the complete renovation of a single-family home in Sotogrande, with the aim of preserving its classic Mediterranean character while updating it to meet contemporary living standards. The intervention focused on enhancing comfort, functionality, and natural light, expanding and optimising both interior and outdoor living spaces, while fully respecting the unique architectural identity of this historic residential development in Cádiz with over 60 years of history.

Being involved from the earliest stages of the renovation allowed us to take part in the design of every space within the home, ensuring a cohesive architectural and interior design language throughout. The result is a residence that feels timeless, elegant, and refreshingly relaxed, designed for a young family and intended to be enjoyed year-round.
Natural Materials and Mediterranean Aesthetic
To achieve the desired atmosphere, we selected a refined palette of natural materials and artisanal finishes: warm wood tones, handcrafted ceramic tiles with a traditional feel, natural raffia, wicker, and stucco finishes, all of which reinforce the Mediterranean identity of the home while adding texture and authenticity to each space.

From the outset of the interior design project, the clients expressed their wish for a home filled with colour and generous spaces, designed to welcome family and friends. As they live abroad, they wanted their Sotogrande residence to become a holiday meeting place, with spacious areas for long meals and social gatherings, play areas for children, and highly practical, functional furniture, without sacrificing style.

The lush vegetation surrounding the property, its proximity to the sea, and the distinctive light of Sotogrande were a constant source of inspiration. The colour palette is dominated by greens and blues, echoing the natural landscape, complemented by subtle accents of ochres and soft pinks that bring warmth and personality to the interiors.

This has been a particularly meaningful project for LA ALBAIDA, where comfort and practicality were always a priority, while carefully preserving the architectural character of the home and the identity of one of the most desirable residential areas in southern Europe. Having worked in Sotogrande on previous occasions, it is always a privilege for us to contribute to projects in such a unique setting.
