Reding41 is an internal project by LA ALBAIDA, focused on the acquisition, comprehensive rehabilitation, and interior design of a historic residence in Málaga, conceived for both rental and sale. Located in one of the city’s most iconic buildings, this project reflects our approach to architecture: respect for the past, contemporary design, and meticulous attention to detail.

The property, built in 1922, had remained untouched since its original construction, with no previous renovations. The height of the ceilings, the original Nolla mosaic floors, and the quality of its materials made this residence an exceptional opportunity for heritage rehabilitation. From the very first visit, it was clear that this was a space with remarkable architectural potential and a strong identity.

As the building is a protected historic property, the start of construction required a more complex administrative process than usual. However, this condition also defined the project’s approach: a respectful, careful intervention fully aligned with the history of the building.

The renovation focused on enhancing the home’s original elements: the restoration of the Nolla mosaic as the central feature of the interior design, the conservation and recovery of the original doors and windows, the use of traditional stucco, and the exposure of original structural elements, carefully lit to highlight their presence. The entire interior design project was developed around the floor as the true protagonist and soul of the home, bringing coherence to every aesthetic and functional decision.

Reding41 represented both a creative and technical challenge, as well as a turning point for LA ALBAIDA. This project consolidated our vision of historic residential rehabilitation in Málaga, demonstrating that it is possible to update spaces without losing their essence or their memory.

For more than a year, the residence was used for private events, meetings with clients and collaborators, and as a space for experimentation and enjoyment. Reding41 is a home that captivates, invites you to stay, and conveys something difficult to define: soul. One of those houses that never tire and inspire stories of both past and future.
